How will I know when my pickup will occur?

Our team will proactively reach out to you via text or phone call before their arrival, ensuring you have advance notice of their visit. Expect this contact approximately 15-20 minutes prior to their arrival time.

To facilitate a smooth pickup, ensure that your items are appropriately packed and labeled. All items should be easily accessible and ready for pickup at the specified dorm and room number indicated in your account. If you have a proxy representing you, please ensure that this information is clearly indicated within your Collegeboxes account.

PLEASE NOTE: For those scheduled under our Direct Shipping or Ship to School services, FedEx will be picking up your packages. Kindly be aware that FedEx DOES NOT provide a prior call before pick-up. If you reside in a private residence, you may leave your packages on your doorstep for FedEx pickup. However, if are in a dorm or apartment building you will need to check with your buildings management to see where you should leave your packages for pick up.

Can I request a specific pick-up time?

No, due to the high volume of students we serve, we are unable to accommodate specific pickup times. Instead, we provide a pickup window during which you should anticipate our arrival. For instance, your pickup window may be scheduled between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM on a designated date.

If you have particular scheduling needs or limitations, it's advisable to arrange for a proxy who can grant our team access to your items in your absence. Please communicate these preferences by including them in the 'Pickup Notes' section when scheduling your pickup or by contacting Collegeboxes customer service via email or text message. Our team will make note of these details in your account.

Can I drop off my things at your storage facility?

Yes, you can drop off your items at our local storage facility. You will simply need to schedule a self-drop off date. Please request an appointment to schedule.

Can I change my pickup date?

Yes, you have the option to log in to your account and reschedule your pickup for another available date. In cases where your preferred date is not available, you can request a special pickup. Special pickup arrangements start at $475 and are subject to availability. Alternatively, you are welcome to drop off your items at our storage facility by requesting an appointment with us.

It's important to note that the availability of pickup slots can fluctuate depending on demand and the time of year. During peak periods, such as the end of the academic year, pickup slots may be in high demand, which could limit flexibility in rescheduling.

Can I choose a pickup date that is not listed?

If the date you require is not available, you have the option to arrange a special pickup. Special pickup services are priced starting at $475 and are contingent upon availability. Additionally, we offer the convenience of dropping off your items at our storage facility, with scheduling arrangements made through us. Request an alternate date.

To enhance your chances of securing your desired pickup date, we recommend scheduling your Collegeboxes service well in advance, particularly during peak periods. This proactive approach increases the likelihood of securing your preferred date. We also encourage flexibility in your planning; if your ideal pickup date is unavailable, consider selecting the closest available date and adjusting your schedule accordingly.

Do I need to be present for my pickup?

It's essential for someone to be available during the pickup window. If you anticipate needing to leave or won't be present during your pickup window, you have the option to designate a proxy who can sign on your behalf. Please provide us with the contact information of your chosen proxy.

Alternatively, you can drop off your items at our local storage facility. You will simply need to schedule a self-drop off date. Please request a Self-drop-off appointment.

How do I add a proxy to my account?

If you have a proxy representing you, please ensure that this information is clearly indicated in the pickup or delivery details within your Collegeboxes account. If you require assistance in adding your proxy information, kindly reach out to us via email or text message at 781-428-4262.

What if I missed my FedEx pick up?

If you missed a scheduled FedEx pickup, there are steps you can take to address the situation and reschedule the pickup or make alternative arrangements. Here's what you can do:

Reschedule Pickup: You can reschedule your pickup for the next business day by logging into your Collegeboxes account. Click cancel pick up – then select a new date.

Consider Drop-Off Locations: This can be a convenient alternative if you're unable to schedule a pickup or need to send your shipment urgently. Find a local FedEx office.

Prepare Items for Pickup: Ensure that your items are properly packaged and ready for pickup on the rescheduled date. Be organized and have everything ready to go to avoid any further delays.

Set Reminders: To prevent future missed pickups, consider setting reminders or alerts on your calendar for scheduled pickups and deliveries.

It's important to act promptly when you miss a FedEx pickup to minimize any potential delays in your shipment.

When will pickup dates become available?

We align our pickup dates with the academic calendars of schools. Pickup dates are typically made available in the weeks leading up to the end of the school year, during summer break, or before the start of a new semester.

Generally, spring pickup dates become available online starting in early February, while winter pickup dates can be accessed in early October.

To secure your preferred pickup date, we strongly recommend scheduling your Collegeboxes service well in advance. High-demand pickup dates, particularly those at the end of the school year, tend to fill up quickly, so early booking can help ensure you secure your desired date.

For those who have some flexibility in their schedules, considering a range of pickup dates can enhance your chances of finding an available slot that aligns with your needs.

Do you offer direct moves from one dorm to another - or from a dorm directly to an off-campus apartment?

No, we do not offer direct moving services. However, we recommend using Moving Help to hire a local mover who can assist you with your direct move.

If you are relocating to an off-campus apartment in a different city and need to transport your boxes, our direct shipping service is available to ship your items to your new address. This can be particularly advantageous for long-distance moves.

In cases where you have to move out of one dorm, but your new dorm or apartment is not yet available, our storage service can be a valuable solution. We will pick up your belongings from your current location and store them until you are ready to move into your new space.

I have already graduated can I still use your service?

If you have recently graduated and are in a transitional period, such as relocating to a new city for work or further studies, you can use our direct shipping service to ship to and from any address worldwide.

How do I update my contact information?

Access your Collegeboxes account by entering your username and password. After successfully logging in, go to the 'Account Profile' tab. Within your profile section, you'll discover an option to edit or update your contact information.

Why can't I log in even though I used your service last year?

Please note that you are required to create a new account for each new term of service. Accounts are deactivated after your items are delivered.

Can Collegeboxes pick up my items from my room even if I am shipping them instead of storing them?

With our storage and shipping service, our staff will pick up your shipping items from your room. If you've opted for our direct shipping service, FedEx will handle the pickup, and you need to leave your boxes with your campus mailroom or take them to a FedEx office.

Can I leave my boxes outside my room for pick up?

Yes, you can leave your boxes outside your room for pick-up as long as they are in a secure and accessible location. Ensure that your boxes are clearly labeled with your Collegeboxes ID and other relevant information.

Please note that in most cases, our team does not have access to residence halls without a student present. It is best to have someone available whom we can contact for access if needed.

Can I use Collegeboxes to transfer schools?

Yes, you can use our services to transfer your belongings between schools or off-campus locations. We offer shipping services that allow you to ship your items to your new school via FedEx.

If you know which school you will be transferring to, we recommend using our "ship to school" service to ship your items to our facility near your future school.

If you are uncertain about your destination school, you can utilize our storage and shipping service at your current school. We will store your items near campus and later ship them to your new school's mailroom when you have the details.

What if you won't know the number of boxes you'll be using until closer to the pick-up date?

No worries! You can wait until you've started packing to add your items to your account's inventory. You have the flexibility to enter your items up until the night before your scheduled pick-up.
